SUBMISSIONS ARE ENCOURAGED FROM ALL FIELDS
We encourage submissions from all fields involving surface metrology including but not limited to: engineering (all branches), medical, food science, anthropology, archeology, chemistry, physics, biology, art conservation, geology, geography, metrology, gigahertz signal transmission, nanotechnology and others.
The ideal contribution would be comprised of at least half surface metrology methods, primarily measurements and analysis, and the rest might be specifics of the application.
It is not required to submit a paper in order to make a presentation at the conference. An abstract is sufficient. The abstracts will be reviewed to select the presentations and organize the sessions.
A booklet of submitted papers, or abstracts if no paper has been submitted, will be prepared for attendees at the conference. After the conference papers can be submitted for review for publication.

- 12 August Proposals for tutorials (title, abstract and bio sketch)
- 31 August Abstracts due for oral presentations
- 27 September: Preliminary program posted on web site
- 12 October Abstracts due for Poster Presentations
- 12 October Papers for on-site proceedings due (the link for the template for paper submission is below)
- 25-27 October conference dates
- 30 November papers for submission for review for a speciall issue of Scanning are due

Submitting Papers
- On-site proceedings: A template for paper submission for the on-site proceedings will be posted.
- After the conference, authors may edit and submit their papers for review for another special issue of Scanning (Wiley )
Posters
- Poster size: Maximum 122x92 cm (48x36 inches). The poster may be oriented in either portrait or landscape orientation. Backing material and easels for the posters will be provided at the conference.
- Please let us know if you need a table or an outlet.
- Local poster printing resources: ACME Blueprint is located near the conference site and can provide printing services for posters. This is a commercial printing service and is not affiliated with the conference or WPI.
- Poster authors are also invited to supbmit papers for the special issue of Scanning
